Trauma & Recovery

Trauma & Recovery
Long after the last deployment, some of us are still living in a war zone that nobody else can see. Trauma & Recovery is where we finally put words, skills, and support around that invisible battlefield.

At the core is Trauma-Informed Care designed specifically for veterans. We don't start with, "What's wrong with you?" We start with, "What happened to you, and how has it followed you home?" Our team understands how combat, moral injury, betrayal, and loss can burrow deep into your nervous system. We move at your pace, always with the understanding that trust is earned, not demanded.

Individual Therapy gives you a private space to unpack the pieces you've never said out loud - the images that won't leave, the anger that scares you, the numbness that makes you feel half-alive. Together, you and your therapist work on practical tools for managing flashbacks, sleeping more than a couple hours at a stretch, and getting through bad days without destroying everything around you.

For many of us, trauma and addiction traveled hand in hand. That's why Trauma & Recovery also includes dedicated Substance Abuse Counseling. These sessions acknowledge why alcohol or drugs started making sense in the first place: to quiet the noise, to forget, to get some kind of peace. We don't shame you for that. Instead, we help you understand the pattern, face the damage it's causing now, and build new ways to cope that don't end in blackout, jail, or another broken relationship.

One veteran told us, "I thought I was just a screwup. Now I see I was a wounded soldier trying to self-medicate." That shift - from seeing yourself as broken to seeing yourself as injured and healing - is the heart of Trauma & Recovery. We can't erase what happened, but together we can help you live a life that isn't ruled by it.
